So, you just had your first child, and life as you once knew it is all but gone. Having your first child comes with added expenses you may or may not be fully prepared for. One thing that will be constant for your child’s first few years will be diapers. There are some big names on the market and something you may consider while purchasing your diapers is where they are made. Huggies diapers are one of the leaders in the diapers space so, where are Huggies diapers made? We have the answer.
Huggies diapers are made right here in the USA. That, in a nutshell, should make the brand very attractive to parents across the nation. Buying American has become something of a war-cry lately, so why not contribute to the American way by keeping one of your biggest and most consistent purchases here at home.
The Huggies brand falls under the well-known American manufacturing company, the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Kimberly-Clark produces mostly paper-based products while labeling itself a multinational personal care corporation.
Kimberly-Clark has a huge list of brand names that include Kleenex, Kotex, Cottonelle, Scott, Andrex, Wypall, KimWipes, and yes, Huggies. And they’re all made right at home in the USA.
As a corporation, Kimberly-Clark got their start back in 1872, when they were founded in Neenah, Wisconsin by John A. Kimberly, Havilah Babcock, Charles B. Clark, and Franklyn C. Shattuck and were called Kimberly, Clark, And Co. Since that time, this thriving corporation has been built based on the needs of the public and makes things like Huggies diapers.
It wasn’t until 1968 that Kimberly-Clark began test marketing its brand of disposable diapers. Their first jump into the market was with Kimbies, their introductory brand of disposable diapers. Unsure if the Kimbies brand would last, Kimberly-Clark continued testing different types of disposable diapers, and then in 1977, they began making the Huggies brand. It has been a constant top-seller ever since.
So, while they grew in popularity (and need), the question begs – Where are Huggies diapers made? Back in the late ’70 and throughout the ‘90s you could almost guarantee most of our products bought here in America were made right here in America. You wouldn’t be wrong with the Huggies brand. Huggies were made in the USA during that era.
Around then other companies and big businesses were finding alternative (see cheaper) ways of producing their product, but Kimberly-Clark decided to stay put. They did expand to take their product worldwide, as any smart business would do, but they kept making everything, including Huggies diapers, in the USA. Kimberly-Clark has a huge presence across the globe with more than 170 locations in 63 countries worldwide, the Huggies they sell in the United States is manufactured right here in the U.S.
Kimberly-Clark calls Dallas, Texas their headquarters. While they don’t produce any product in Dallas, they have 18 manufacturing plants across the county located in cities such as Beech Island, SC, Conway, AR, Corinth, MS, Fullerton, CA, and Jenks, OK. They have other manufacturing plants in the states of North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, Alabama, Connecticut, Utah, and Kentucky. They even continue to do a bit of their Huggies manufacturing in Neenah, WI.
This is a great piece of news for those of you who like your products American-made. As for the Huggies diapers made here in the US, their list is actually quite impressive and surprising at just how many options they give new parents. They include Huggies Special Delivery Diapers, Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers, Huggies Little Movers Diapers, Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Huggies OverNites Diapers, Huggies Little Swimmers Disposable Swim Pants, Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diaper Pants, and Huggies Little Snugglers.
Huggies also produces a Diapers Plus called Huggies Little Movers Diapers Plus as well the training pants Pull-Ups Training Pants for Boys and Pull-Ups Training Pants for Girls
Not only do Huggies make diapers and training pants for the little tykes, but they also produce baby wipes. These include Huggies Special Delivery Wipes, Huggies Natural Care Sensitive Wipes, Huggies Natural Care Refreshing Wipes, Huggies Nourish & Care Wipes, and Huggies Simply Clean Fragrance-Free Wipes.
Yes, each and every one of these products comes made from a manufacturing plant right here in the United States.
Unfortunately, not all has been smooth sailing for Kimberly-Clark and making their Huggies brand. Back in 2018, the company was looking to cut costs to the tune of $2 billion. To do so, they announced the closing or selling of 10 of their 91 production factories worldwide.
Kimberly-Clark, in efforts to keep up with Proctor & Gamble’s Pampers brand, needed to streamline some of their business, so a workforce reduction was necessary. To date, Huggies and Pampers continue to slug it out for top sales on the diaper aisle.
As long as the fight remains here in the US, no one is going to complain. Huggies diapers made in the USA. Can’t get any better than that.
