Harley Davidson is known mainly for their recognizable motorcycles and dedicated customer base. But the company has also been issuing mountain bikes over the past decades. The motorcycle brand is starting to craft a new Harley Davidson mountain bike that’s entirely electric, known as an ebike.

The motorcycle company is revamping these 90s bikes for the 21st century. The Harley Davidson mountain bike will be called the Bash/Mtn and appeal to those who enjoy gravel biking or under biking. Under biking, which is the style of riding an ill-equipped bike on rough terrain, is a particular style of activity that’s gotten more popular in recent years. Traversing complex territory on vehicles not meant to deal with harsh terrain has been an exhilarating challenge for expert athletes. Harley Davidson only advises those who have under biking expertise to ride this ebike on mountains and offroad paths.

The newest Harley Davidson mountain bike has no front or back suspension, so traversing rock territory won’t be easy. Suspension systems help keep the rider cushioned, so the impact of rugged trails won’t be felt entirely. No suspension means riding across the mountain will be tumultuous, a riding style only top-tier bikers could accomplish. The ebike also doesn’t come with a dropper post, which helps adjust the seat height quickly. The bike does come with an SR Suntour NCX seat post which aids in general shock absorption.

Though removing these critical pieces of the new Harley Davidson mountain bike wouldn’t appeal to standard riders, it’s a purposeful part of marketing the ebike. A reason to purchase the Bash/Mtn is that there’s “no fussy suspension to tune” or any other components to adjust. It’s the perfect ebike for those who love under-biking, so inexperienced riders should probably purchase something more sturdy with better shock absorption. Harley Davidson’s marketing goal for this new ebike is to showcase the connectedness between the bike and the rider. An under biker experiencing the Bash/Mtn will feel the immense impact of the rough terrain it’s riding over, which is essential for many mountain-biking experts.

The electric Harley Davidson mountain bike will come with a removable 529Wh battery that’ll give the rider 30 and 95 miles of range. The battery only needs five hours to complete its charging, with the tank filling up by 75% in the first two-and-a-half hours. The ebike will come with TRP hydraulic disc brakes with better modulation and braking power than standard mechanical brakes. Michelin tires will be the finishing addition to the Bash/Mtn bike, each of 27.5-inch tubeless perfection.

Though the Bash/Mtn isn’t available yet, it’ll be one of the most affordable electric mountain bikes on the market. Costing almost $4,000, its starting price is uniquely accessible for most buyers wanting to invest in an electric bike. When the newest Harley Davidson mountain bike is released, only 1,000 units will be available worldwide. Then depending on popularity, the company will increase manufacturing to meet customer demand.

Harley Davidson’s mountain bikes will surely attract those infatuated with under biking. The Bash/Mtn is expected to release soon, but will only be available to purchase in North America and Europe.
