Kellogg’s is one of the iconic cereal brands in America, distributing well-known breakfast cereals like Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, and Lucky Charms. Now, the brand is releasing an Elf-on-the-Shelf cereal inspired by the Christmas toy. The limited-edition food item has a never-before-seen chilling property that cools your mouth with each spoonful.
It’s not unlikely for brands to create new products based on the upcoming season or holiday. Though it’s just the start of spooky season, Kellogg’s is already preparing for Christmas-focused buyers by releasing its Elf-on-the-Shelf cereal. The Elf on the Shelf North Pole Snow Creme cereal’s cooling effect is in honor of the snowy climate that comes with winter, bringing the chilliness of the Christmas season to your morning meal.
So, how did Kellogg’s capture the feeling and taste of snow in its upcoming breakfast cereal? According to Comicbook.com, the breakfast-food brand stated that the limited-edition cereal contains a slow-release agent that mimics the feel of snow melting on one’s tongue. Though the cereal’s chilling effect may be reminiscent of snowfall, the flavor profile is much different, with hints of vanilla from the cereal and the abundant mini marshmallows.
Sadie Garcia, the director of brand marketing at Kellogg Company, said that once they partnered with Elf on the Shelf and Scout Elves, they knew they wanted to create something snow-inspired for their following product. She regarded the cereal as something “delicious as it is magical,” alluding to the breakfast food’s unexpected, chilling properties. Garcia, and the brand itself, hope to bring Christmas joy prematurely this year with each box of this holiday-inspired cereal.
Though the Elf on the Shelf cereal will only last this winter season, there are other products you can try out to fulfill the Christmas spirit. Kellogg’s also sells Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookie cereals that are perfect for the holiday months. Starting in October, the Elf on the Shelf Snow Creme Cereal will be exclusively sold at Walmarts around the country, costing buyers $5.29 per 12.2-ounce box.
If you’re a fan of the Elf on the Shelf Snow Creme cereal, you can find similar cereals at various grocery stores in the United States or on Kellogg’s website. Both the Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookie cereals are slightly less expensive than the snow-inspired ones, with an average retail price of $4.99 for each box. The Kellogg’s website also has a plethora of Elf-on-the-Shelf knick-knacks and collectibles, including an elf-themed toppings bar, a hot cocoa stand, and Christmas gnome figurines.
If your kids want more than cereal for the holiday season, Kellogg’s website has plenty of gifts to satisfy their Christmas needs. The website contains plenty of printable activities, including various coloring and drawing sheets of elves, Christmas trees, and Santa’s workshop. There’s also a fun, printable word search for both kids and adults alike.
Kellogg’s knows it’s never too early to celebrate the December holidays. To gear up for the endless winter festivities, the beloved cereal brand has plenty of Christmas-inspired breakfast foods and decor to choose from.
