Doritos tortilla chips are flavor-packed triangles that push plain tortilla chips out of the picture when it comes to snacking. Now the brand is launching a new way to enjoy its signature Spicy Nacho and Cool Ranch flavors beyond the borders of a chip. Doritos dips are here, and ready to flavor anything you wish to bathe in nacho or cool ranch goodness.

Frito Lay describes Doritos dips in delectable terms. The Spicy Nacho flavor is said to be “a twist on the classic Doritos Nacho Cheese flavor snackers have known for years, delivered in a delicious dip that packs a spicy punch.” Cool Ranch Jalapeno is described as a “reimagined smooth and creamy ranch dip [that] intensifies flavor with a touch of spicy jalapeño.”

If you’re thinking, “Wait a minute. I’ve seen Doritos dips before,” you’re right. Amazon currently offers jars of Doritos branded nacho cheese dip, sour cream and chives dip, and Doritos hot and mild salsa. But the new dips are the only ones that are seasoned with Doritos’ signature flavors.

This means you can match your chips to the dips and double up on your favorite Doritos flavor. Or you can mix it up and create your own favorite Doritos dips and chips combination. The new Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch Doritos plunged into Cool Ranch Jalapeno dip does sound pretty amazing.

Of course, the number of things you can plunge into Doritos dips is basically unlimited. Kids could very well be convinced to eat healthy raw veggies if they’re served with a side of Spicy Nacho cheese. And people who love to drizzle a little ranch onto their pizza will definitely find the Cool Ranch Jalapeno more flavorful than a typical bottled salad dressing.

Leslie Vesper, vice president of brand marketing at Frito-Lay says that Doritos dips continue their quest to please their fans with new bold flavors. “As Doritos disrupts the dip aisle with the release of Doritos Dips, our goal is to deliver new and unexpected experiences to consumers. Whether paired with their favorite foods or our other Doritos product offerings, we hope Doritos Dips help fans think outside the box, just like we’re thinking outside the chip bag with this innovation.”

Celebrity endorsement of Doritos dips is provided by American actress Keke Palmer, who is featured in an ad where she immerses chicken fingers into the new Doritos Cool Ranch Jalapeno dip. Soft pretzels are another dip-carrier food suggested by the brand, but you’re really only limited by your imagination. Potato chips, French fries, onion rings and even cheeseburgers sound like good things to take the plunge.

The new Doritos dips will roll out this month at stores nationwide and sell for $4.49 per container. Unlike the previous dips bearing this brand, they will be packaged in plastic tubs with resealable lids instead of glass jars. Hopefully, this will help online orders make it to their destinations intact, instead of breaking as many Amazon reviews said about the old glass containers.

If you can’t find Doritos dips at your local store, check Frito-Lay’s online shop, Snacks.com. The dips are slated to appear there any day now and would be a great addition to a care package filled with other delicious snacks. Orders over $15 ship free, making it a convenient way to restock the snack cabinet at home or work.

When you go to Snacks.com, be sure to check out their Holiday Village where you can download an exclusive Snapchat filter and get creative new recipes using Frito-Lay brand products. The website also makes it easy to donate to the Marine Toys for Tots program. Every gift will be added to Frito-Lay’s $500,000 donation that will help the nonprofit deliver toys to less-fortunate children this holiday season.
