We have all been there before as we attempt to place our favorite order at a fast food restaurant, shopping at the grocery store, or are unable to locate that one ultimate snacking need online. Panic, fear, and sadness overcome our souls as we receive the news that one favorite item is now no more! This is the current state for some Kroger shoppers as they are no longer able to purchase their cheddar sour cream potato chips.

According to The Sun, Kroger has apologized to its customers after breaking the sad news that the ever-so-popular cheddar sour cream chips will no longer be available for purchase. Kroger says “Ugh! We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Simple Truth Organic Wavy Cheddar Sour Cream Potato Chips have been discontinued”, even after pleas from devastated shoppers who are publicly begging for these cheddar sour cream potato chips to return to the shelves!

One of the devastated shoppers says the Simple Truth Organic Wavy Cheddar Sour Cream Potato Chips were the “greatest tasting” and once again, Kroger has apologized for axing the beloved flavor. However, this is not one of the first times Kroger has caused its shoppers to be disappointed by the news of a product being discontinued. At the beginning of October of this year, the retailer broke the news that it had taken the flavored sparkling water product Bubly Bounce off the shelves for good.

When the news broke of the discontinued Bubly Bounce, one upset customer said it was not a product that could be purchased at one of Kroger’s rivals such as Target or Albertsons, so cutting these flavors and products is not a great way to keep customers returning to Krogers. The customer continued on to say, “Maybe it’s time to rethink these decisions if you want to keep customers”. Another frustrated customer said they have not been able to find the drink in a Nevada Krogers in over three months.

Kroger once again did acknowledge the news by the disgruntled customers by saying once again they were sorry still but Bubly Bounce is no longer being carried as it has been permanently discontinued from our stores. Kroger did continue to apologize for the inconvenience the news of the termination of the product or other products has caused. They would take the comments and feedback from their customers to the leadership team for further review and have a great day.

Kroger has also recently shared the news that it has discontinued its own brand of apple jelly despite it being branded as “underrated” by its customers. A representative once again responded by saying Kroger was sorry the customer was unable to find their favorite flavor of Kroger jelly but it had too been discontinued. One customer who was a huge fan of the product was outraged by this news and tried visiting ten different outlets to obtain the item before it was gone forever.

Kroger has already told its shoppers that any decision made to discontinue any of its products like the Simple Truth Organic Wavy Cheddar Sour Cream Potato Chips, Bubly Bounce, and its Kroger Apple Jelly is not something that is taken lightly. A lot of time and effort goes into the process of determining when a product should be discontinued or not.
