One of the best holiday movies of all time, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, now has a beer in its honor. The Brewdog beer is dubbed, It’s A Beaut, and has a 7.5% ABV. A few of these bad boys and you might be feeling silly and wild like Cousin Eddie.
Just in time for the holidays, an epic collaboration has taken place. The Brewdog beer is said to be Christmas in a can. The flavor profile of the holiday drink includes butter pecan, toffee, vanilla, and roasted cocoa.
A six-pack of the festive Brewdog Beer sells for $12.99. The design of the can features the outline of a Clark Griswold in a Santa suit, just like the cover of the movie, and a string of lights wrapping around the can. In true Christmas fashion, the colors included in the design are mainly green and red.
Brewdog beer company began in 2007 in Scotland. The first batches of beer the company produced were in small batches and bottled by hand. The founders, James Watt and Martin Dickie, began selling the beer from their ban at local markets.
The following year, Brewdog Beer began to distribute to countries including the United States, Sweden, and Japan. Within just a short period of time, they became one of Scotland’s most prominent independent beer breweries. This was just the beginning for the brewery, as success was on its way.
Over the next several years, Brewdog Beer grew and expanded at an unthinkable rate. The company accepted 1,300 investors, and people began buying shares of the company. As the evolution of Brewdog continued, the company started setting records.
One Brewdog Beer is a record holder for the world’s strongest beer at 32%. The company expanded even further and opened up a bar, and then several more to follow. Success and expansion continued, and in 2014 the company produced 36 beers and shipped them to 55 countries.
Just two short years later, there were a whopping 82 new Brewdog beers in production. The growth Brewdog experienced was unheard of, and with their success, they have made pledges to give away 20% of their annual profit. Additionally, Brewdog has made commitments to the planet that involve redesigning its packaging to ensure they are doing its part to keep our planet strong and healthy.
Brewdog is such an epic company and a collaboration with such an iconic movie such as, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation totally makes sense. The company and Warner Brothers wanted to create a limited-edition beer that captured the spirit of the movie and they have done just that. One can only imagine Clark himself enjoying a can of The Beaut and attempting to figure out why on earth his Christmas light display isn’t lighting up.
The collaboration between Brewdog and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation beer has already sold out on the company website. Currently, a new batch is being brewed up and should be available by the end of the month.
