Over the last few years, one company has taken the vegan world by storm. And now, they just released news that a brand-new product is rolling out to stores nationwide today. So, when you pop in to buy groceries tonight, consider sprucing up your dinner plans with Beyond Meat steak.

The leader in meat alternatives officially launched in 2012. It first made a name for itself thanks to its plant-based hamburger patties that look surprisingly like the real thing. Over the course of the last decade, Beyond Meat has pushed the boundaries of the meat substitute industry.

They have even partnered with many fast food restaurants to test new recipes and offer vegan menu alternatives. Most recently, Beyond Meat steak got introduced to the world when the company partnered with Taco Bell. The two designed a vegan carne asada that they rolled out at select Dayton, Ohio stores.

Unfortunately, the new Beyond Meat steak and the Taco Bell partnership are not the only reason the company has made recent news headlines. Over the past month, it got embroiled in a few scandals and tribulations. The most notable of which involved the prior chief operating officer.

The company let Doug Ramsey go after his arrest. In case you missed the news story…he allegedly bit another man’s nose. But that wasn’t the only struggle the executive team faced.

Beyond Meat also lost its chief financial officer. And they made the strategic decision to eliminate the chief growth officer position. As rocky as the journey sounds so far, it isn’t over.

The company made the shocking announcement that it planned to eliminate 19% of its current workforce. That amounts to approximately 200 positions. So, given the recent state of affairs, it needed some positive news.

And that is where Beyond Meat steak comes in. After its official launch, customers can now find it in over 5,000 stores nationwide. Some retailers carrying the new product include Kroger, Sprouts, Albertsons, Walmart, Jewel-Osco, and Ahold Delhaize.

Beyond Meat steak has faba bean protein and boasts a whopping 21 grams of protein per serving. The package contains bite-size pieces, making it easy to add to any dish. The new selection also has no cholesterol and less saturated fat than traditional beef steak.

Beyond Meat steak also has a competitive price point. You will find the packages selling for $7.99 for 10 ounces. So, even if you are a meat eater whose wallet can’t currently handle steak prices, it is a great alternative.

The company hopes the launch will help ease some of its financial woes.

They saw a dip in sales during the second quarter. According to CNBC, its grocery sales rose by 2.2%, but restaurant sales declined by 2.4%.

Additionally, investors have expressed concerns over the financial well-being of Beyond Meat. Shares of the company have already dropped 80% this year. So its market value is currently only $821 million.

So, Beyond needs the new Beyond Meat steak to fetch them a win. With any luck, it will bring the company a desperately needed sales boost. And with the holidays just around the corner, Beyond may just achieve its goals.
