Another button?! Users will have another button if the leaked drawings for the upcoming Apple Watch Pro cases are correct. This seems contradictory to the sleek touch screens we’ve all gotten used to as of late. An actual button coming out of the side of a watch—seems a bit, well, old school, yeah? Users of the watch say no way.

For The Love Of Buttons

Those of us at a certain, ahem, age reminisce about the buttons that used to be on our cell phones because you could text your friends without seeing the screen. This is called “multi-tap” and users at the time became legit pros at texting, say, under a table while in science class. It appears that the Apple Watch Pro designers remember this time fondly.

In those days, a number corresponded with a letter, and you just tapped your way to the desired letter. Now, you have to look at the keyboard because raised buttons seem to have died. The Apple Watch Pro, however, is hinting at taking a cue from the past.

According to a recent article, users like athletes and outdoor adventurers are missing their “big grabby buttons.” They need them when competing or in the middle of something when they cannot pull their phone out and look at their watch. Eyes ahead! Swiping on the watch is next to impossible when sweat is everywhere in the middle of a long run. Sometimes you have to look back to move forward. The Apple Watch Pro finally gets it.

The Big Reveal

The Apple Watch Pro will be shown on September 7, 2022, during Apple’s hardware event. It is reported that the company will unveil the iPhone 14 series, new iPad models, AirPods Pro 2, and perhaps a new Mac Pro. The new Apple Watch Pro is reportedly the only brand-new product they will announce. All eyes are on this watch!

True Apple fans likely have owned an Apple watch since its launch in 2015. They’ve enjoyed seven years of having everything available on their wrist, but it seems that sometimes, the old design is the best design. Or at least parts of it. It is reported that the new Apple Watch Pro will be a bit chunkier, signaling that this design isn’t aimed at everyone. That means that Apple is listening to its users and following the consumer need for gear aimed at athletes.

The new Apple Watch Pro design makes users believe the digital crown will now be protected. Tell Me Best reported on this feature a year ago, and at that time, it was becoming a bit of an issue since users started to contend with it.

A chunkier face means that glancing at the time or your heart rate whilst in the middle of running a half marathon won’t be a struggle anymore. The new Apple Watch Pro probably isn’t for you if you don’t get that.

At this time, it is unknown what the big new button on the left side will be used for, but chances are athletes and thrill seekers are intrigued. The Apple Watch Pro also may have a redesigned speaker vent, with a new protrusion that houses the mic. Hopefully, this signals that accidental presses are a thing of the past.

Tell Me Best reported recently that up-and-coming Apple watches may give the Garmin watch (usually preferred by athletes) a run for its money. It seems they may have been right. It’s inspiring because Apple is known for its sleek design and all-around “cool factor.” Will Garmin users switch? Only time will tell.
