Some Aldi Shoppers Can Now Save Even More Money, Here’s How
Aldi in the UK launched a new website with curated and customer-created content focused on saving money.
It’s no surprise that more folks are finding ways to make their dollar go further–especially at the supermarket. With prices up and down and now up again, the easiest thing to do is create a budget, stick to it, and consistently find ways to save. One store, in particular, Aldi, does not have brand names and has successfully handed savings down to the customer.
According to The Mirror, Aldi is now adding a website that helps shoppers explore recipes that can be made with ingredients found at the store. Moreover, these recipes are made to feed an entire family on a proper budget. The webpage is called “The Amazing Savings” page and also highlights and showcases money-saving SpecialBuys. Everything on the site is designed to show you how to cut costs, not just advertise to get you to buy.
Aldi’s new webpage also is designed to show you tricks and hacks for shopping on a budget. It brings together the best things about the store and includes tips for saving money on energy efficiency and cutting costs on the amount it costs to run a home. Content creators (Aldi influencers?) are also invited to share their tricks, tips, and recipes with the main goal to save money at the supermarket. Unfortunately, it appears that the website and this helpful content is only available in the UK at this time.
Aldi launched in Great Britain in 1990. There are now 300 Aldi stores in the UK. Aldi began in Germany in 1961 and opened its first US-based store in Iowa in 1976. Today, the Aldi headquarters in located in Illinois. The brand has more than 2,000 stores across 36 states with more than 25,000 employees.
Aldi’s guiding principles have always been to provide quality with everyday low prices. And, they’ve never wavered from that. One of the secrets to Aldi’s success is having a smaller footprint so folks can navigate the store quickly and keep the items displayed in their original shipping boxes to save on restocking shelves. Although this is typically what anyone will experience at an Aldi, there was one day when the grocery store experienced pure chaos in its attempt to hand down savings.
A particular hydration drink that became extremely popular in a short time–Prime–caused excitement and even caused adults to trample over children. Prime is created by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI. When Prime is not an energy drink, it is extremely popular with younger kids as the two YouTubers use their channels to promote and market the drink.
Aldi started selling the drink at its rock-bottom prices which caused adults to trample kids to get their hands on the drink. The store tried to implement rules allowing only a certain amount of transactions, but you know what they say about best-laid plans.
There is no word if Aldi restocked the drinks, but chances are, in the UK, it won’t happen because of the chaos and violence. But, with Aldi’s new website, people can continue to find savings (maybe not quite as exciting as with Prime) and even share their own recipes.
So, will the UK be the first place to see Aldi influencers? Time will tell!
