Many people have returned to pre-pandemic behaviors. As we are in the thick of the holiday season, which includes lots of holiday shopping, traveling, and large get together to celebrate. Despite things returning to normal, people e are still at risk of catching COVID, and once again, you can get free COVID tests through a government program.

Free COVID tests will begin being distributed next week via mail for anyone who places an order online. The Biden administration is taking action as people prepare to gather for the holidays. The Biden administration is also asking people to make sure to test themselves before attending any gathering for the holidays or if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.

The program that provides the free COVID tests was suspended in September. Congress initially denied additional funding for the program that provides the at-home testing kits. Biden and his administration worked to access funding to pay for this new round of at-home test kits.

The government has provided four total rounds of free COVID test kits to Americans this year alone.  This new round of at-home test kits is the government’s way of attempting to make it easier for Americans to be prepared and prevent the spread of COVID-19. You can easily order test kits on covidtests.gov and have them delivered directly to your home.

In addition to this government program, there are other ways to get free COVID tests easily. Through Medicare, people can get an allotted amount of free tests every month. Medicare recipients just need to contact their local pharmacy and ask for the free testing kits.

You may also be able to find at-home test kits available through schools, food banks, and even testing sites. Sometimes all it takes is a simple phone call or maybe an e-mail to confirm if a place could provide free COVID tests. To save yourself any trouble, consider calling ahead to confirm availability and perhaps ask what the process is for obtaining a testing kit.

For people with private health insurance, free COVID tests are available in the form of reimbursement. Private healthcare recipients are typically eligible to be reimbursed for up to eight at-home test kits per month. Initial costs of the test may vary by the pharmacy or by brand.

As the pandemic has been ongoing for a few years now, the government is far better prepared and equipped to handle moments like this. After an order is placed for a free COVID test kit, they are typically mailed swiftly and efficiently. People can expect to receive the at-home test kits within five to seven days after placing the initial order online via the government website

The free COVID test kits you receive via the government program or by other means are simple and easy to use. There is even an app that people can download that provides step-by-step video instructions for users. Unlike the initial COVID test, testers do not need to stick a Q-tip very far up their nose.
