With life mostly back to normal, restaurants are starting to fill up on weekends again. And that means making a dinner reservation is slightly more challenging than during the pandemic. Thankfully, news coming from Uber may be the answer you need to your reservation trouble.
Uber is best known as the original ride-sharing company. However, the company continues to prove that it is on the cutting edge. Over the years, it has announced news of updated and expanded services, all to tap into emerging markets.
The company launched in 2009 in San Francisco. The idea of ordering a ride via an app was unheard of at the time. Those were still taxi days.
After finding success with its ridesharing service, Uber expanded. In 2012, they started offering ice cream delivered on demand. And who doesn’t love that news?
Fast forward a few years, and Uber Eats launched in select cities. It did not take long for the food delivery service to take off. And now, customers can access Uber Eats services all across the country.
Uber Eats has proven to be such a hit that the parent company decided to step up the food game again. News of a new service where customers can make dinner reservations was recently released. But don’t worry – no need for a new app.
The dinner reservation service will be available via the Uber Eats app. According to Travel Noire, “With its new update, Uber has teamed up with Open Table and Viator, allowing users to book dinner reservations through the app. In addition to restaurant reservations, users can also book experiences, activities, tours, etc. “
That new service is called Uber Explore, and it is available within the Uber app you already have. The company tweeted out news of the new product on Monday. Just look for the rocket ship.
Once you find it, click on it, and you can start your exploration journey. Uber partnered with Viator and OpenTable to make Uber Explore possible. It first launched Uber Explore in limited cities in March as a test run.
Apparently, the company is pleased with the performance since they rolled it out nationwide. On Monday, the company stated, “This season we’ve teamed up with the experts at Viator and OpenTable to bring more tourist attractions, can’t-miss events, and must-try restaurants than ever into Uber Explore so you can book an activity and keep your crew occupied. Especially in those lazy days leading up to the new year!”
So, go ahead. Relish in the news of a streamlined dinner reservation system for a few minutes. Then shake it off and book your table before someone else does.
And while you are at dinner, consider exploring another recent Uber program. Uber Travel launched in the spring of 2022 and is rolling out worldwide soon. So you can plan your next vacation over dinner.
But the best part? Using the app to plan all your activities and trips has its rewards. When you book a trip on Uber Travel, you earn 10% back which applies to future Uber adventures.
