Electric vehicles are the wave of the future and becoming more and more accessible by the day. Chevrolet has dropped an updated more affordable of one of its electric vehicles that were originally released back in 2016. The Chevy Bolt is available to consumers with a starting price of around $27,000.

Last year the Chevy Bolt was facing some serious manufacturing issues and was under serious fire, literally. At one point, the production of the electric vehicle was completely haunted. The haunt in production was a result of a battery issue that had the potential to catch fire.

The manufacturer of the Chevy Bolt sent out a warning to customers who owned the vehicle to proceed with caution and to avoid charging the car indoors. Owners of the Chevy Bolt were also urged to take extra precautions when handling the battery. The manufacturing began working to solve the hazardous battery issue and eventually completely resolved it.

Production of the Chevy Bolt began again just as gas prices across the United States reached all-time highs. The Chevy Bolt comes in two models, The Bolt EV and an SUV-like model, The Bolt EUV. Once the cars began production again, they were sold in record numbers.

14,000 Chevy Bolts were sold in the very first quarter after production of the vehicle began again. With such a strong demand for the car, Chevy has plans to ramp up production from about 40,000 to a staggering 70,000 vehicles being produced and manufactured. This is good news for Chevy and customers, as the vehicle is affordably priced and a great option for the environment.

Aside from Tesla, the Chevy Bolt is the best-selling electric vehicle in the United States. The average cost of an electric vehicle is close to $80,000 and the Chevy Bolt starts at less than half of that, making for an affordable choice for the average citizen. Most people who buy electric vehicles are not only looking for something good for the environment but looking to save money on gas.

If you are spending nearly $80,000 on a car, it kind of defeats the point of savings. The average price of a Chevy Bolt is $27,000, a very appealing price tag for those shopping for a brand-new vehicle. This price point may be what is causing a spike in sales for the Chevy Bolt.

Both models of the Chevrolet’s EV have lots of add-ons available for those looking for all the bells and whistles. Of course, add-ons come at a price but still, the price with add-ons comes in well under the cost of a Tesla. GM, who produces and sells the Chevy Bolt is even offering cash incentives for those who purchase a specific model of The Bolt.

The Chevy Bolt gets close to 300 driving miles on a full battery charge and goes zero to sixty in seven seconds, making for a fun drive. The interior is spacious, and comfortable and features nearly 60 cubic feet of cargo space. For serious buyers in the market looking for an electric vehicle, at an affordable price, the Chevrolet’s EV is turning out to be the best option.
