The air is crisp, leaves are changing, and pumpkins abound. That’s right – fall has arrived, and Halloween is waiting just around the corner. And to celebrate the changing seasons, Krispy Kreme announced the news that it, too, will go through a change – in name, that is.

The chain is world-renowned for its tasty treats and often boasts long lines of eager customers. It regularly launches unique and creative marketing efforts to keep doughnut fans on their toes. And they have come up with a screaming plan for October.

For the rest of the month, Krispy Kreme will change its name to Krispy Skreme. And that’s not the only change customers can expect. The company also changed its logo, packaging, along with all marketing materials to reflect the name change.

More importantly, they added a new spooky doughnut line-up just in time for Halloween. Now, Krispy Kreme (or, Skreme) customers can order a Haunted House-themed box packed with a seasonal assortment. The four new offerings include a Neon Orange Sprinkle Doughnut, Scaredy Cat Doughnut, Spooky Spider Doughnut, and the Boo Batter Doughnut.

The outlet Comicbook found out a little more about each mouth-watering flavor. Fans of good old-fashioned glazed doughnuts will appreciate the Neon Orange Sprinkle Doughnut. It features an Original Glazed doughnut coated in neon orange icing and a spooky sprinkle blend.

The Scaredy Cat Doughnut will tempt everyone who loves their pastry filled with delicious Kreme™. It has the favorite filling and gets finished with purple icing. The decorations include green and chocolate buttercream, with a chocolate cat gracing the top.

Arachnophobic customers may want to give their Spooky Spider Doughnut to a friend. The Original Glazed® Doughnut with chocolate has cooking pieces and a spider web made of icing for decoration. Oh, and did we mention the sugar spider that will hang out on the web?

And, finally, the Boo Batter Doughnut is stuffed with Krispy Kreme’s tasty cake batter and covered with neon green icing. With Halloween sugar sprinkles and a sugar ghost, this option is sure to delight everyone. You can find all four through Halloween and maybe even snag a few deals along the way.

Customers will love the news that, starting October 15, when you buy a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, you can get another dozen for only $2. Plus, to help ensure everyone is living Halloween to the fullest, the company will offer a special deal on Halloween day. Show up in your costume, and you will get a doughnut of your choosing – which is wonderful news for fans of costumes (and doughnuts).

The Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Skreme, Dave Skena, is thoroughly embracing the change. According to Skena, “A Krispy Skreme Halloween is more about sharing than scaring, and with Scary Sharies each Saturday we make it easy to ‘boo’ a neighbor with the best treat going. And when fans open the door on our haunted house custom box, they’ll ‘skreme’ with delight at all-new doughnuts that are perfect for celebrating everything that’s sweet about Halloween.”
